16 June 2014, Shanghai ITMA ASIA + CITME 2014 opens with the largest presentation of textile machinery since the series made its debut in 2008. This year’s show is about 15 per cent bigger than the previous edition in 2012.
The 2014 combined show grosses over 152,200 square metres of exhibition space. Some 1,600 exhibitors from 28 economies are taking part in the five-day show at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC).
ITMA ASIA + CITME is owned by CEMATEX, together with its Chinese partners – the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT (CCPIT-Tex), China Textile Machinery Association (CTMA) and China International Exhibition Centre Group Corporation (CIEC).
Mr Charles Beauduin, President of CEMATEX, said: “Exhibition space for the combined show was sold out a few months ago. The overwhelming response from exhibitors shows textile machinery makers have great confidence in the ITMA ASIA + CITME as the ideal platform to market cost-effective solutions to the huge Chinese market.”
Mr Wang Shutian, President of CTMA, concurred: “The success of the last three combined shows has demonstrated that ITMA ASIA + CITME is the most reputable international textile machinery exhibition in Asia. We are delighted that the size of each exhibition has been increasing by double digits.
“This shows that textile machinery makers are buoyant about the market as China’s traditional textile industry seeks to transform itself through the use of the latest technologies and equipment.”
The combined show has the participation of many Chinese and international textile machinery brands. Many of the exhibitors are showcasing advanced automation, energy efficient and environmentally friendly solutions.
